Corbin Reese went 2-for-3 with a double, triple and three RBIs and also picked up the win with seven strikeouts in four innings to lead the Lincoln Cardinals past Bunceton 14-0 last Thursday in Bunceton.
The Dragons, dropping to 7-5 on the season, managed just two hits in the game against Lincoln and trailed 3-0 after one, 6-0 after two and 11-0 after three. The Cardinals also sent one run across in the fourth and two in the fifth.
Dillon Alpers took the loss on the mound for Bunceton by giving up six runs on three hits and two walks while striking out two bastters in two innings. Rylee Knapheide then came in and pitched one inning in relief and allowed five runs on three hits and four walks while striking out one batter. Then, to finish the game, Layne Maddex pitched two innings and issued three runs on two hits and two walks while striking out three.
Derel Stephens had two hits in the game for Lincoln with a single, double and two RBIs. Hayden Beaman finished the game with two singles while Grant Eifert added one triple and two RBIs and Nate Hesse with one single and two RBIs.
For Bunceton, Layne Maddex and Dylan Flatt each had one single.
