Caterpillar improved to 2-4 on the season by beating Cooper County Land Title in Babe Ruth 16U softball Monday night at Rolling Hills park.
In the nightcap, Central Bank upended Custom Weatherproofing 13-0 in four innings.
While leading from start to finish, Caterpillar also led at one point in the game by a score of 14-0 before giving up two runs in the bottom-half of the fourth.
Brooke Eichelberger picked up the win in the circle for Caterpillar while Brooke Stone took the loss for CCLT, who dropped to 1-4 on the season. Eichelberger gave up two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out four in four innings. Stone, meanwhile, pitched 3 1/3 innings and allowed 10 runs on five hits and six walks while striking out six.
Caterpillar also out-hit CCLT 7-4, with Eichelberger going 3-for-3 with a single, two triples and two RBIs.
Ashlen Homan had a single and a double while Paige Shelton also tripled and drove in one run. Alyssa Gross finished the game with one single while Reese Lavers, Kyra Perkins and Becky Evans added one RBI each.
For CCLT, Daylynn Baker and Ginna Meisenheimer each had one triple while Cara Bishop doubled and Brooke Stone singled.
In the second game, Central Bank opened the game with five runs in the top-half of the first and then sent two runs across in the second and three in each of the third and fourth innings of play for the victory.
Logan Root also pitched a shutout for Central Bank with three strikeouts in four innings. She also gave up seven hits and walked one batter.
Alexis Albin took the loss for Custom Weatherproofing by giving up 10 runs on three hits and six walks while striking out eight.
Zoey Laster had two singles and drove in one run to lead Central Bank. Rachel McFatrich contributed two singles while Kylee Johnston added one single and one RBI and Logan Root with one single.
For Custom Weatherproofing, Rachel Massa went 2-for-2 with two singles. Albin triple while Alexis Trigg, Madison Henderson, Cheyenne Thurman and Zoe Coffelt each singled.
