Boonville Daily News and A-Bow-K both took different routes on their way to victories Tuesday night in Cal Ripken Minor at the COCOBA ballfield.
While the Boonville Daily News edged Axis Seed 13-12 in the first game, A-Bow-K led Bradley Automotive from start to finish in the nightcap for a 17-5 victory.
The Boonville Daily News, improving to 2-0 on the season, led Axis Seed 11-9 after the first-three innings but then had to hold on as Axis Seed rallied back with a 3-2 advantage in the final two innings.
Brooke Poulsen was the winning pitcher in the game for Boonville Daily News while Aden Rapp took the loss for Axis Seed.
Darrin Leonard and Shawn Beach-Reasons each had a single, double and one RBI to lead the Boonville Daily News. Bryson Welch added a single and one RBI while Lyle Christy had two runs batted in and Jackson Shelton with one RBI.
For Axis Seed, who dropped to 0-2, Michael Shady went 2-for-2 with two singles and two RBIs. Landry Timm also had two hits, both being singles. JaSean Roper homered and drove in three runs while Clayton Schuster added a double and one RBI and Wade Frederick with one RBI.
In the second game, A-Bow-K scored early and often against Bradley Automotive while lead 4-2 after two and 14-2 after three.
Chase Chamberlain picked up the win on the mound for A-Bow-K, 2-0 on the season, while Jailyn Patel took the loss for Bradley Automotive, who dropped to 1-1.
Chamberlain also led the hitting attack for A-Bow-K with two doubles and two RBIs.
Reece Townlain had a single, double and one RBI while Aaydin Zimmerman added a double and two RBIs, Kailen Vaca one double and one RBI, Kaden Thacker and Coleman Browning each with one single and one RBI, Aiden Schueler with one single and Dylan Kosky with two RBIs.
For Bradley Automotive, Jailyn Patel had both hits with a double, triple and two RBIs.
