LSE eighth grader Treveon Coleman captured first place finishes in three individual events and ran a leg in the 4 x 200-meter relay to lead the Pirates to a third place finish during the Fulton Relays last week.
Coleman won the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.87 seconds, the 200-meter dash in 24.37 seconds and the long jump with a jump of 20’-0”. Meanwhile, on the 4 x 200-meter relay team, Coleman teamed up with DaWan Lomax, Travis Dell and DJ Wesolak for a winning time of 1:48.21.
The only other first place finish for LSE came in the shot put as Wesolak won that event with a throw of 42’-8”.
In the final team standings for the boys, Eldon seventh grade captured first with 137.8 points. Fulton finished second with 106 points, followed by Boonville at 105, Winfield at 65, St. Joseph Cathedral at 36.3, St. Peter (Jeff City) at 34, Our Lady of Lourdes 29.5, Immaculate Conception (Jeff City) at 20, Christian Fellowship and Kingdom City Academy at 13 and Eldon eighth grade 10.
In the final team standings for the girls, Our Lady of Lourdes took home the title by accumulating 106 points. Eldon seventh grade finished second with 96 points, followed by Fulton with 94.5, Eldon eighth grade at 87, Winfield at 71, St. Joseph Cathedral at 49.5, LSE at 34.5, St. Peter (Jeff City) at 17, Christian Fellowship at 12 and Kingdom Christian Academy at 3.5.
LSE track coach Morgan Sprigg said she thought both the boys and girls did well this meet.
“We placed in almost every event, which is improvement for both boys and girls,” Sprigg said. “Both boys and girls ran extremely well. I was proud of them for their accomplishments. They really pushed themselves and each other on the track.”
The LSE Pirates also had one second place finish as the 4 x 100 meter relay team of Brennen Rowe, Wesolak, Lomax and Dell took second in a time of 53.15 seconds.
Third place finishes for the Pirates were Dell in the shot put with a toss of 18’-0”, Luke Green in the 400-meter dash in 1:02.44 and Owen Armentrout in the triple jump with a leap of 33’-1”.
The 4 x 400-meter relay team of Armentrout, Colby Caton, Jackson Johns and Conner Acton finished fourth in 4:36.51.
Fifth place finishers were Green in the 1600-meter run in 5:36.25, Wesolak in the 200-meter dash in 26.69 seconds, Dell in the shot put with a toss of 33’-2” and Caton in the triple jump with a jump of 30’-10”.
Dennis Swires took sixth in the discus with a toss of 77’-6 1/2”.
Finishing seventh were Lomax in the 100-meter dash in a time of 13 seconds and Johns in the 1600-meter run in 5:39.27.
For the LSE Lady Pirates, the 4 x 200-meter relay team of Chloe Ward, Madison Henderson, Katera Bonaparte and Carlie Bishop placed third in a time of 2:08.08. Mackenzee Troost also finished third in the triple jump with a jump of 28’-8”.
Deana Hendren placed fourth in the high jump with a jump of 4’-2”.
Finishing fifth was the 4 x 100-meter relay team of Genae Hodge, Chloe Ward, Madison Henderson and Kylee Johnston in a time of 1:00.23.
Sixth place finishers were Ward in the 100-meter dash in 14.72 seconds and the 4 x 400-meter relay team of Kylee Johnston, Rayghan Skoufos, Hope Mesik and Jadzia Pacenza in a time of 5:37.78.
Seventh place finishers were Anna Thompson in the shot put with a toss of 26’-9” and Madelyn Casey in the discus with a throw of 55’-9”.
Eighth place finishers were Hope Mesik in the 1600-meter run in 6:47.57, Katera Bonaparte in the 200-meter dash in 32.72 seconds and Mackenzee Troost in the long jump at 12’-10”.
