The Boonslick Senior Center hosted their Fourth Annual Chili Cook-Off Saturday night at 4:30 at 512 Jackson Road. The eight contestants vying for Chili King/Queen of Boonville were 87 Diner, Matt Billings, Robin Billings, The Cove, Frances Backus, Russell Bellamy, Main Street Diner, and Andy Cornelison.
The four distinguished judges of the evening were Elaine Gramlich, Susan and Steve Hage, and Jim Edwards.
After the judges had scored each chili based on taste, texture, etc, Cindy Newton totaled all the ballots to determine the winner.
The Cove took First Place and received a Certificate and $50. The Cove also received the 2017 Business of the Year Award from the Chamber of Commerce earlier this month.  
Frances Backus earned the Second Place Award along with $25.
Coming in third was Andy Cornelison who cooks for the Pilot Grove School District.
The side competition between Matt and Robin Billings of KWRT had no winner as neither Matt nor Robin made the top three.
