LSE coach Susie Stone said Fayette was a balanced team and they played aggressive man to man defense with a zone full-court press.
“We struggled at first with the full-court pressure,” Stone said. “We handled the full-court pressure as the game went along but then never transitioned into a half-court offense. We did take good looks at the basket the first half and held Fayette to four points in the first quarter. We allowed too many offensive boards and second shot opportunities. As the season progressed the girls improved individually in different areas of basketball fundamentals. They are a great group of girls, I can’t say enough about their character and sportsmanship.”
