The LSE Pirates wrestling team had four place finishers over the weekend while competing in the Carrollton Tournament.
Blaine Stark and Peyton Hahn both finished first in their respective weight class with records of 3-0 and 2-0, respectively.
Hayden Mendez placed third overall at 1-2 while Brayden Gamel took fourth with a record of 0-3.
LSE wrestling coach Summer Young said Hayden Mendez had an impressive win over Knob Noster and came out in third place. “Brayden Gamel worked hard and fell short with a fourth place finish,” Young said. “Blaine Stark placed first and went undefeated this year. Peyton Hahn gathered another first place medal for the LSE Pirates. Our middle school season has now come to an end, but these boys are excited to extend their wrestling season for the Pirate Powerhouse Wrestling Academy. We may have had a small team this year, but I couldn't have asked for a better bunch of young men. We continued to improve on and off the mat all season long and I am proud to be their coach.”
At Marshall last Thursday, Peyton Hahn finished with a record of 3-0, Travis Dell 3-1 and Brayden Gamel and Hayden Mendez at 0-3.
