The Bunceton boys and girls basketball teams fell on the road Tuesday night against Tuscumbia, losing to the Lions by the scores of 64-29 and 67-49, respectively.
The Lady Dragons, dropping to 1-1 on the season, got off to a slow start against Tuscumbia and trailed the Lions 20-10 after first period’s end and 39-16 at the half.  Tuscumbia also outscored Bunceton 18-16 in the third to extend the lead to 57-32. Meanwhile, in the final period, the Lady Dragons had their best quarter of the ballgame by outscoring Tuscumbia 17-10.
Abbi Grimwood led three players in double figures for Tuscumbia with 23 points.
For Bunceton, Lauren Wieland had 10 points, five rebounds, three steals and one assist.
Taylor Burnett finished the game with nine points, two rebounds and two steals while Chloe Moser added eight points, five rebounds, one steal and one assist, Skyler Shuffield six points, 10 rebounds, two assists and one steal, Madelynn Myers six points, three steals, three assists and two rebounds, Taylyn Heilman four points, two rebounds and two steals, Cara Bishop two points, seven rebounds, one steal and one assist, Jenna Kahle two points, five rebounds and one steal and Emily Clevenger with two points, one rebound and one assist.
For the Bunceton boys, they had a great start while leading Tuscumbia 11-9. However it was pretty much an uphill battle after that as the Lions went up 26-15 at the half and then outscored the Dragons 38-14 in the second half.
Morgan Crane had 16 points to lead all scorers for Tuscumbia.
For Bunceton, Rylee Knapheide had nine points and six rebounds. Blake Petsel added eight points, three rebounds, two steals and one assist while Hunter Shuffield chipped in five points and one rebound, Jason Burnett four points, one rebound, one steal and one assist, Brayden Doyle two points and five rebounds, Landon Petree one point and three rebounds, Dillon Alpers four steals and three rebounds, Blake Petsel two rebounds and one steal and Braxton Kempf one rebound.
