The Bunceton girls junior high basketball team had a tough game on the road Thursday night by losing to Calhoun by a score of 31-8.
The Lady Dragons, dropping to 0-8 on the season, trailed Calhoun by just four at the break as the Eagles led 8-4 after one and 12-8 at the break. Unfortunately for Bunceton, they wouldn’t get any closer in the ballgame as Calhoun came out in the second half and outscored the Lady Dragons 19-0 for the victory.
Trenton Richey had 26 points to lead all scorers for Calhoun while Eli Bailey chipped in three and Isaiah Bailey two.
For Bunceton, Alexia Hein finished the game with six points, three rebounds and one steal while Laney Heilman added one point, four rebounds and one steal, Kylee Myers with one point and one steal, Madison Davis with four rebounds and Abby Cunningham and Mark Roberts each with two rebounds and one steal.
The Lady Dragons also finished the game 6 of 13 from the from the foul line for 46 percent but only had one field goal on the night.
