The Bunceton Lady Dragons volleyball team had the perfect ending to the regular season Monday night against Chamois.
With the district set to begin next week in Smithton, the Lady Dragons defeated Chamois in three sets by the scores of 25-13, 25-15 and 25-21.
Bunceton coach Casandra Goyer said the girls played a great game and had some of the JV girls step up and make some great plays.
“I am extremely proud of how they worked together,” Goyer said.
Skyler Shuffield and Lauren Wieland also had big games for Bunceton. Shuffield finished the match with six service aces and one block while Wieland had two kills, two service aces, two blocks and one dig.
Reagan Triebsch added four service aces and two digs while Autumn Bishop had three kills and one block, Cara Bishop with two kills and one dig, Jenna Kahle with two service aces and one dig, Kylie Heilman with one service ace and Taylyn Heilman with one dig.
In the Class 1 District 11 Tournament next week at Smithton, Green Ridge drew the No. 1 seed. Lincoln was seeded second, followed by Smithton, Stover, Otterville, Bunceton and Calhoun.
Tournament action will begin on Monday, Oct. 16th with Stover playing Otterville in the first game at 5:30 p.m., followed by Lincoln versus Calhoun at 6:45 and Smithton versus Bunceton at 8.
The winners will advance to the semifinal round on Tuesday.
Green Ridge will play the winner of Stover-Otterville at 5:30 p.m., followed by the winner of Lincoln-Calhoun versus Smithton-Bunceton at 6:45 p.m.
The championship game will also be held on Tuesday at 8 p.m.
