The LSE Lady Pirates seventh and eighth grade volleyball teams picked up the sweep at home on Wednesday by beating the Fulton Hornets in two straight.
The LSE Lady Pirates eighth grade team won 25-21 and 25-10 while the seventh grade team prevailed by the scores of 25-22 and 25-13.
LSE volleyball coach Jessica Luscombe said the eighth grade team played really well. “They played as a team and worked hard on getting three touches on every play,” Luscombe said. “They have come a long way this season and I hope they keep the improvement going when they play their last game next week.”
Nora Morris led the Lady Pirates eighth grade team with 11 service points with four aces along with six assists, five digs, three attacks and one kill.
Kaitlyn Elliott finished the game with 11 digs, one attack, one kill and one assist while Rayghan Skoufos added seven service points with one ace and one dig, Kadison Hammers four digs, three kills on five attack attempts and one service point, Faith Mesik with four digs, four attacks and two service points, Kyleigh Thacker with two digs, two service points and two kills on three attack attempts, Hope Mesik five service points, Deana Henderson three service points, two kills and one dig, Jenna McKee two service points with two aces, Ella Kearns two digs and Kylee Johnson with one dig.
In the seventh grade match, Luscombe said the girls did a really good job by playing as a team and talking. “Even when we were down they kept their head high and pushed through to win in two,” Luscombe said. “Hopefully we keep this going for the last two matches.”
Ashlen Homan had seven service points and three digs to lead the Lady Pirates. Heather Hall added five service points with one ace and one dig while Kasie Northern had five service points with one ace, Ava Parman and Alyssa Gross each with four service points, Genae Hodge with two digs and Kinley Fox and Molly Schuster each with one dig.
