New Franklin coach Adam Quest said the most exciting races of the meet were actually the two JV races.
“In perhaps the most exciting finish of the season so far, Mallori Burnett was able to hold off a very hard charging Smith-Cotton girl to hold on to fourth place,” Quest said. “She literally collapsed at the finish line.  Hayden Wiseman was also able to mount a charge at the end of the race to secure a medal by finishing 15th overall, and set a new personal best in the process.  Although we didn't come home with any varsity medals, Tyler Perkins had a very competitive race and set a new season best."
The New Franklin boys and girls cross-country team will compete at Moberly on Thursday, Sept. 28th starting at 4 p.m. Then, on Tuesday, Oct 10th, the Bulldogs will compete at Centralia starting at 4.
Districts will be held on Saturday, Oct. 28th.
