The Boonville Pirates JV football team raised its season record to 3-2 by beating the Kirksville Tigers 22-16 Monday night in Kirksville.
Boonville Pirates JV coach Joe Henke said Peyton Keeran led the Pirates with three touchdowns with two rushing and one receiving.
“I thought the boys played a complete game last night,” stated Henke. “We were able to run the ball effectively with Peyton, Spencer Steakley and Nick Ferrari. The offensive line did a good job opening up some good running lanes and also did a good job protecting Nick in the passing game. Nick Ferrari had a nice game at quarterback. He threw one touchdown pass to Peyton Keeran and did a good job leading our team. The defense did a very good job stopping Kirksville’s running game. Greyson Mesik, Dalton Elder and Harper Stock had good games on the defensive side of the ball. All in all, it was our best win of the season.”
The Boonville Pirates JV football team will be back in action on Monday, Oct 2nd at home against Fulton starting at 6 p.m.
