The Bunceton Lady Dragons volleyball team finished third in the Chamois Round-Robin Tournament over the weekend by beating the host team in three sets 25-19, 17-25 and 25-20.
In the opening round, the Lady Dragons fell to North Callaway in two straight sets 16-25 and 21-25. Then, in the second game, Bunceton split with Chamois 25-22 and 22-25. Meanwhile, in the third game, Bunceton dropped two sets against Linn 19-25 and 11-25 before beating Chamois for third.
Bunceton coach Casandra Goyer said the girls played extremely hard and worked together to battle through all of these sets. “It was a really long and hot day and I am extremely proud of their efforts throughout the tournament,” Goyer said.
Senior Lauren Wieland led the Lady Dragons in four matches with 15 kills, 15 aces, four digs and three blocks.
Jenna Kahle finished the tournament with 21 aces, five kills and two digs while Skyler Shuffield added 13 aces, seven digs and two kills, Reagan Triebsch with 12 aces, four digs and two kills, Cara Bishop with nine kills, three aces, two digs and one block, Kylie Heilman with three aces, two kills and two digs, Autumn Bishop with three kills, two digs and two blocks and Emily Gregory with one kill and one dig.
