The Ss. Peter & Paul volleyball team defeated Our Lady of Lourdes in two straight sets Tuesday night in its home opener by the scores of 25-11 and 25-20.
Ss. Peter & Paul coach Dina Herzog said Addi Brownfield served the ball great in the first set. However, in the second set, Herzog said the girls missed too many serves and gave away too many points. “They worked together as a team and got it done,” Herzog said.
Brownfield finished the match with 13 service points with seven aces along with six kills.
Abby Fuemmeler finished the match with six service points along with 11 assists and one kill. Olivia Eichelberger had five service points with one ace while Lillian Rohrbach added five service points with two assists and one kill, Emma West with three service points with two kills, Zoey Lang with three service points and Alyssa Fitzgerald and Hailey James each with one kill.
In the B-team match, Ss. Peter & Paul defeated Our Lady of Lourdes in two straight 25-23 and 25-6.
Herzog said the girls continue to grow and get better each game. “We will continue to work hard every day,” Herzog said. “We have a number of girls who are really serving well.”
Jordyn Fuemmeler led the Lady Warriors B-team with five service points with four aces along with three digs.
Zoey Lang finished the match with four service points with two aces, four digs, one kill and one assist. Kylee Turner had three service points with one ace, two assists, two digs and one kill while Alison Eichelberger added three service points, two aces, two kills and one dig, Bridgette Lutz with three kills, Grace Williams with one dig and one assist and Bailey Atkinson and Allison Drummond each with one dig.
