The Bunceton Lady Dragons volleyball team fell in two sets Monday night against the Stover Bulldogs by the scores of 19-25 and 20-25.
While the loss dropped the Lady Dragons to 4-6 on the season, head coach Casandra Goyer said both the varsity and JV team made some silly mistakes that ended up costing them the games. “We are going to be working to fix these things and are hoping for a win in our next match,” Goyer said.
Lauren Wieland led Bunceton with five kills along with five service points and three digs. Skyler Shuffield had four service aces, two kills, two digs and one block while Autumn Bishop added two kills, one dig and one block, Reagan Triebsch two service points and two digs, Jenna Kahle two kills and Emily Gregory with one dig.
In the JV match, Bunceton won the first set 25-19 but then dropped the second set by a score of 14-25.
Wieland again led the Lady Dragons with five service aces along with five kills and three digs. Shuffield had four service aces, two kills, two digs and one block while Bishop added two kills, one dig and one block, Triebsch with two service aces and two digs, Kahle with two kills and Emily Gregory with one dig.
Bunceton sweeps Russellville in two straight sets
The Bunceton volleyball team raised its season record to 4-5 by winning in two straight sets Friday night against Russellville by the scores of 25-23 and 25-23.
Bunceton coach Casandra Goyer said both the varsity and JV team, which also won 25-17 and 25-23, did a wonderful job. “They worked really hard for these victories and battled through many long volleys,” Goyer said.
Senior Lauren Wieland led the Lady Dragons with four kills and three service aces. Skyler Shuffield finished the game with two kills, two service aces, two digs and one block while Kylie Heilman added four service aces and two kills, Reagan Triebsch with four digs and one kill, Jenna Kahle with two kills, one service ace, one dig and one block, Emily Gregory with two digs, one service ace and one kill, Cara Bishop with one kill and one service ace and Autumn Bishop with one dig.
In the JV match, Emily Gregory had five kills, three service aces and one dig while Cara Bishop added seven kills and two service aces, Reagan Triebsch with five service aces, two kills and one dig, Taylyn Heilman three kills and two digs, Haylee Rose three service aces and one kill, Autumn Bishop four kills and Abby Young with two kills.
