Pilot Grove junior Samarah Bailey had it going on Tuesday night in the circle as well as the plate against former CCAA rival Jamestown.
While finishing the game with two hits in four at-bats, Bailey also had a perfect game through five innings of play while striking out 13 batters in a 12-0 win.
Pilot Grove coach Neal Bailey said the Lady Tigers were able to jump on Jamestown early with eight runs in the first. “It’s good to get production throughout the lineup,” Bailey said.
The Lady Tigers also improved to 5-3 overall with all five coming from the arm of Bailey, who is 5-1 on the season.
Of course it didn’t hurt that Pilot Grove exploded for eight runs in the first inning and four again in the fourth to win by the mercy rule.
The Lady Tigers also out-hit Jamestown 14-0, with Reagan McFatrich going 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs. Sasha Moore finished the game with two singles and two RBIs while Natalie Rentel added two singles and one RBI, Emily Schupp with two singles, Abby Schupp with one triple and two RBIs, Kaitlen Weekley with one double and two RBIs and Reagan Walker and Melanie Wolfe each with one single.
