Loses 25-22, 25-18
The Bunceton Lady Dragons volleyball team fell on the road Tuesday night against the La Monte Vikings while dropping two straight sets by the scores of 25-22 and 25-18.
While the loss dropped Bunceton to 1-1 on the season, head coach Casandra Goyer said the girls came out strong in both sets but ended up getting down on themselves. “We battled back in both sets to close the gap, but we just did not have enough last night,” Goyer said. “We are looking forward to taking on Hallsville tomorrow here in Bunceton.”
Senior Lauren Wieland led the Lady Dragons with four digs, four blocks, three kills and two service aces.
Skyler Shuffield finished the match with three kills, two service aces, two digs and two blocks while Kylie Heilman added four digs, two kills and one block, Emily Gregory with three digs, two service aces and one kill, Jenna Kahle with two kills and two digs, Reagan Triebsch with three digs and one service ace, Autumn Bishop with two blocks, Taylyn Heilman with two digs and Cara Bishop with one kill and one service ace.
