With the start of fall season set to begin on Monday, July 31st, Boonville Athletic Director Chris Shikles announced starting times for those sports.
The following is a schedule for starting times on opening day: softball, 7-10 a.m. at Rolling Hills park; girls tennis, 7:30-10 a.m. at high school; football, 8-11 a.m. at high school; cross-country, 8-10 a.m. at high school; girls golf, 8-10 a.m. at Hail Ridge; cheer, 8-10 a.m. at high school; dance, 8:30-10:30 at Turning Point Dance Studio; volleyball, 3-5:30 p.m. at high school; boys soccer, 5-7 p.m. at high school.
Shikles said before participating in a practice or game, students must complete and submit to their coach an athletic form which requires a physical examination by a physician, verification of athlete’s insurance coverage by parents, and parental permission. These application forms are available in the principal’s office.
Also, the Boonville Fall Sports Passes will officially go on sale on Wednesday, August 2nd.
Shikles said the passes are the same as last year with adult season passes at $45, student season passes to all sporting events at $40 (for students in grades k-12, pre-school children admitted free), senior citizen’s passes for lifetime use for patrons of the district who are 65 years of age or older and family pass to all sporting events for $100.
Shikles said children attending school in grades k-12 are not to be included in a family pass. He said they may buy an adult pass or pass at the gate.
High school and Laura Speed Elliott Middle School students who purchase a season pass by August 4th will be able to use their student I.D. card as their season pass.
Tickets may be purchased in the principal’s office at Boonville R-I High School and Laura Speed Elliott Middle School. Tickets will also be available at the home football games or mail the order form with a check or money order to: Athletic Department, Boonville R-I High Schoo, 1 Pirate Drive, Boonville, Mo., 65233, or Athletic Department, Laura Speed Elliott Middle School, 700 Main Street, Boonville, Mo., 65233.
Make checks payable to Boonville R-I Schools. Tickets may be picked up in the principal’s office or will be mailed to you on receipt of your order.
The football jamboree, tournaments and playoffs are not included in season passes. Season passes are good for Boonville R-I High School athletic events and Laura Speed Elliott athletic events only.
The Boonville Pirates football team will once again be the host for a three-team Jamboree on Friday, August 11th at the BHS Sports Complex starting at 6 p.m.
Odessa and Fulton will also take part in the Jamboree along with Boonville.
Shikles said each team will play a series of eight offensive plays, starting from the 35, six plays on offense from the 40 and four plays on offense from the 15. The two teams will then switch with the defensive team playing offense and the offensive team playing defense.
Boonville and Odessa will square off in the first round, followed by Fulton versus Odessa and then Boonville versus Fulton.
Volleyball and softball will also take part in Jamboree. However, the starting times and dates have yet to be determined.
The Boonville Pirates football team will kick off the 2017 season on Friday, August 18 at home against the Eldon Mustangs starting at 7 p.m.
The Boonville Lady Pirates softball team, meanwhile, will open the 2017 season one day later with the annual Lady Pirate Leadoff Classic on Saturday, August 19th. Then, after the Lady Pirate Leadoff Classic, Boonville will travel across the river for a meeting with the New Franklin Lady Bulldogs on Monday, August 21st starting at 5 p.m.
The Boonville Lady Pirates tennis team and the Boonville Pirates JV football team will also open its seasons on August 21st. The Lady Pirates tennis team will travel to Kirksville for the season opener while the JV football team will play at Moberly starting at 6 p.m.
The Boonville Lady Pirates volleyball team, boys soccer team and boys and girls cross-country team will all open the season on Tuesday, August 22nd. The Lady Pirates volleyball team will travel to Ashland for a matchup against Southern Boonville at 6 p.m. while the soccer team will host Father Tolton  at the BHS Sports Complex at 5. The cross-country team, meanwhile, will compete at Salisbury starting at 5.
The Boonville Lady Pirates golf team will be the last team to open the season on Thursday, August 24th at Hail Ridge Golf Course in Boonville against Father Tolton starting at 4 p.m.
