The Boonville 8-year-old All-Stars fell to 0-2 in the Cal Ripken State Tournament  Friday in Farmington by losing to Carthage by a score of 11-0.
The Boonville 8s also lost in the opening round on Thursday against Monett 15-2.
In that game, Boonville scored its only two runs in the second inning while Monett plated two in the first, four again in the second, two in the third, six in the fourth and one in the fifth.
Jaxon Stonecipher, Tom Monnig and Dylann Clark each had two singles in the game for Boonville while Kaden Thacker added one single and one RBI and Brennen Alberts with one single.
For Monett, Brayden Seitz had two singles and one triple while Tommy Nash added three singles and Hayden Brener with two singles.
In the game against Carthage, the Boonville 8 all-Stars again struggled to score runs while Carthage put up six in the first, one again in the second and four in the third.
Kaden Thacker had two hits in the game for Boonville while Brennen Alberts, Tim Monnig and Landon Carter added one hit each.
The Boonville 8 all-Stars will play twice on Saturday against MABA National at 10 a.m. and MABA American at 6 p.m.
