After the first round of the state tournament last weekend, Round 2 will kick off Thursday with three more divisions battling it out for a chance to advance to the Midwest Plains Regional Tournament.
The Boonville 8-year-old All-Stars will travel to Farmington for a eight-team tournament, which starts on Thursday, July 20th.
The Boonville 8 All-Stars will play Monett in the first game at 10 a.m., followed by Carthage versus MABA National at 12 noon, Sikeston Black vs. Mineral Area American at 2 p.m. and Jackson versus Kennett at 4. Then, after opening ceremonies at 6, Mineral Area National will play Sikeston Red at 6:15 p.m. and MABA American versus Kennett at 8:15 p.m. to round out Day 1.
The schedule for Day 2 is as follows: Boonville vs. Carthage, 10 a.m.; Sikeston Black vs. Sikeston Red, 12 noon; Jackson versus Monett, 2 p.m.; Sikeston Red vs. MABA American, 4 p.m.; Kennett versus Monett, 6 p.m.; and Carthage versus Jackson, 8 p.m.
On Saturday, Boonville again will open up tournament play against MABA National at 10 a.m., followed by Monett versus Sikeston Black at 12 noon, Sikeston Red versus Carthage at 2 p.m., Kennett versus Sikeston Black at 4, MABA American versus Boonville at 6 and MABA National versus Sikeston Red at 8.
Bracket play will begin on Sunday, July 23rd, with the No. 3 seed playing the No. 2 seed at 1 p.m., followed by the No. 4 seed versus No. 1 seed at 3 and the winner of the first two games in the championship at 5.
As for the Boonville 9-year-old All-Stars, they will play in Pool B along with MABA American, Kennett and Jackson.
Teams in Pool A are Scott County, Carthage, Sikeston and Cape Girardeau.
Games on Thursday have Scott County playing Sikeston on Field 6 and 10 a.m. and MABA American versus Jackson on Field 7 at 10. At 12:30 p.m., Carthage will play Cape Girardeau on Field 6 while Kennett battles Boonville on Field 7.
Opening ceremonies will be held at 3:30 p.m.
As for the games on Friday, Cape Girardeau will play Scott County at 10 a.m., followed by Boonville versus MABA American at 12:30, Sikeston versus Carthage at 3 and Jackson versus Kennett at 5:30.
On Saturday, Scott County will play Carthage at 10 a.m., followed by MABA American versus Kennett at 12:30, Sikeston versus Cape Girardeau at 3 and Jackson versus Boonville at 5:30.
Bracket play will begin on Sunday, July 23rd, with the second place Pool B winner versus the first place Pool A winner at 9 a.m. on Field 6. Also, at 9 a.m. on Field 7, the second place Pool A winner will take on the first place Pool B winner. The winners of the first-two games will play for the championship at 12 noon.
As for the Boonville 11-year-old All-Stars, they will be the host team for the state tournament, which will be held at the high school ballfield.
Boonville will compete in Pool A along with Carthage and Mineral Area American. Teams in Pool B will consist of Scott County, Kennett and MABA National.
Tournament play will begin on Thursday, with Boonville play MABA American at 3 p.m., followed by Scott County versus MABA National at 5 p.m., opening ceremonies at approximately 7-7:30 p.m. and Carthage versus Boonville at 8.
Only three games will make up the schedule on Friday, with Kennett playing Scott County at 3 p.m., followed by MABA American versus Carthage at 5 and MABA National versus Kennett at 7:30.
On Saturday, the third seed from Pool A will play the two seed from Pool B at 1 p.m., followed by No. 3 seed from Pool B versus No. 2 seed from Pool A at 3. The winners will then advance to play at 5:30 and 7 p.m., with the championship on Sunday, July 23rd starting at 2 p.m.
