The Boonville 15-year-old All-Stars cruised in the opening round of the Babe Ruth State Tournament Thursday night in Joplin by blanking Carthage in five innings 11-0.
While out-hitting Carthage 13-1 in the game, the Boonville 15 All-Stars also led from start to finish by pushing across two runs in the first, four again in the third and five in the fifth.
Cole Meisenheimer picked up the win on the mound for Boonville by striking out four batters in two innings. Meisenheimer also gave up just one hit.
Cameron Stornello then came in and pitched one inning in relief and walked three batters while striking out one batter. Then, to finish the game, Jack Kindle pitched two innings and struck out two batters.
As for the hitting in the game for Boonville, Kealin Vinson went 3-for-3 with two singles, one double and one RBI. Kindle also had three singles and drove in one run while Cole Meisenheimer added a single, double and one RBI, Carson Campbell, Dawson Barnthouse and Reece Lang each with a RBI-single, Peyton Keeran and Josh Polk with one single each, Quess Frerking and Cameron Stornello each with two runs batted in and Andy Neal with one RBI.
Tanner Fly had the only hit in the game for Carthage, being a single.
