Carly Darson had a single and a home run, and teammate Lily Chitwood added two singles as Exchange Bank defeated GKC-CPA’s 14-9 in Little League softball last Saturday in New Franklin.
Exchange Bank led GKC-CPA’s by just one (10-9) after two before adding four more runs in the third.
Dorson also picked up the win in the circle for Exchange Bank while Justice Singleton took the loss for GKC-CPA’s. Dorson pitched all three innings and struck out four batters while giving up nine runs on one hit and 15 walks. Singleton, meanwhile, pitched three innings and surrendered 14 runs on five hits and nine walks while striking out four batters.
Heaven Hundley also singled in the game for Exchange Bank.
Natalie Caszatt had the only hit in the game for GKC-CPA’s, being a single.
In the second game, GKC-CPA’s beat Shelter Insurance in machine pitch by a score of 16-5.
GKC-CPA’s never trailed in the game against Exchange Bank and led 5-0 after one, 8-0 after two and 10-0 after three. Meanwhile, after Exchange Bank plated four runs in the top-half of the fourth, GKC-CPA’s came back and tacked on two runs in the bottom half of the inning and four again in the fifth to make it 16-4. Then, in the sixth, Exchange Bank sent one run across to round out the scoring.
Sophia Held and Lilly Kaullen each had four singles to lead Shelter Insurance.
Lily Chitwood, Faith Painter, Huntir Lyons and Baylie Bonecutter finished the game with three singles each while Heaven Hundley added two singles and one double, Lydia Burnett with two singles and Madison Painter with one single.
For Exchange Bank, Natalie Curry had four singles while Kinsley Washburn, Jayna Matthews and Makenzie Martin added three singles each, Carly Dorson one double and one home run and Elaina Henderson with one single.
