Dalton Oerly goes 2-for-2 with a single, double and one RBI to lead CARSTAR past A&W in the first game 11-3
With less than a week remaining in Junior Babe Ruth, CARSTAR and Central Realty appear to be firing on all cylinders after combining for 21 runs on 12 hits in two games.
CARSTAR led off action on Wednesday by dismantling A&W 11-3 while Central Realty led KWRT from start to finish for a 10-2 victory.
Central Realty also clinched the title in JBR with the win by improving to 13-2. A&W is currently in second place at 9-7, followed by CARSTAR at 8-6, KWRT at 8-7, Imhoff’s Appliance at 6-9, Medical Arts at 4-11 and Fayette at 3-9.
Although CARSTAR wound up winning by eight runs, the game was close for the first-four innings with the game tied at 3-all. However it was pretty much all CARSTAR after that while pushing across two more runs in the fifth and six again in the sixth for the victory.
Kealin Vinson picked up the win on the mound for CARSTAR while Andy Neal took the loss for A&W. Vinson pitched the first-six innings and struck out five batters while giving up three runs on four hits and three walks. Bo Vinson then came in and pitched one inning in relief and walked one batter while striking out one.
For A&W, Cale Fox started the game and pitched the first-four innings and surrendered three runs on four hits and four walks while striking out four. Neal then came in and pitched 1 2/3 innings in relief and allowed eight runs on two hits and six walks while striking out one. Then, to finish the game, Peyton Keeran pitched 1 1/3 innings and gave up one hit while striking out three batters.
CARSTAR also out-hit A&W 7-4, with Dalton Oerly going 2-for-2 with a single, double and one RBI. Cole Meisenheimer and Kealin Vinson each had one double and one RBI while Robert Saunders added one single and two RBIs, Bo Vinson with a RBI-single, Preston Stover with one single and Brock Nowlin with one RBI.
For A&W, Cale Fox went 1-for-4 with one double while Cameron Ray, Gage Allison and Cody Garner added one single each and Andy Neal with one RBI.
In the nightcap, Central Realty wasted no time getting out in front against KWRT while pushing across one run in the first and four again in the third to extend the lead to 5-0. Meanwhile, after KWRT plated two runs in the bottom-half of the third, Central Realty came back and tacked on two more runs in the fourth, two again in the sixth and one in the seventh for the victory.
Carson Campbell picked up the win on the mound for Central Realty while Nathaniel Krebs took the loss for KWRT. Campbell pitched the first-four innings and struck out 10 batters while giving up two runs on two hits and five walks. Reese Lang then came in and pitched three innings in relief and allowed one hit and two walks while striking out six batters.
For KWRT, Krebs pitched four innings and surrendered seven runs on four hits and two walks while striking out five batters. Heath Danner then came in and pitched three innings in relief and issued three runs on one hit and three walks while striking out four batters.
Central Realty also finished the game with five hits, with Carson Campbell and Anthony Blank each collecting one single, one double and two RBIs.
Josh Chrisman had one triple and one RBI.
For KWRT, Nathaniel Krebs went 2-for-4 with two singles and one RBI while DeAndre Wesolak added one single.
