The Seventh Annual Gene Reagan Scholarship Golf Tournament Saturday at Hail Ridge Golf Course in Boonville may very well have been the best yet with a record 29 teams participating.
While playing under blue skies and temperatures in the low 80s, the team of Johnny Rorah, Brett Windsor and Carl Schmittou carded a 18-hole score of 59 to capture first in A-flight.
While shooting 12 under for the tournament, the trio edged second place team (Robbie Waibel, Sean Cleary and Taylor Cleary) by one stroke. The team of Jamie LeGrant, Brad Eiken and David Aldrich, meanwhile, finished third in A-flight with a 10-under par 61.
In B-flight, three teams tied for first with a 7-under par 64.
Playing to a tie were the teams of Joe Green, Tanner Green and Scott Whitney; Curtis Walk, Terry Ehlers and Tony Pagliaro; and Daniel Espy, Bobby Mullens and Charles Burks.
Three team also tied for first in C-flight with a 3-under par 68.
Playing to a tie were the teams of Bobby Ivy, Jim Dilse and Blaine Einspahr; Chris Shikles, Jason Johns and Jeff Brush; and Mark Strange, Roy Watts and Dennis Davis.
