For the first-three innings of  the annual Midget League All-Star Game at the COCOBA ballfield, the teams of A-Bow-K, W-K Auto and Caterpillar stood toe to toe with C&R Market, Boonville Ready Mix and Caterpillar.
With neither team able to do much offensively, you knew it was only a matter of time before both teams came out of their hitting slump to score runs.
The team of C&R Market, Boonville Ready Mix and Caterpillar had just enough hits and runs in the fourth inning to beat A-Bow-K, W-K Auto and Caterpillar by a score of 4-3.
Of course the win didn’t come easy. The team of A-Bow-K, W-K Auto and Caterpillar showed real promise by pushing across one run in the top-half of the fourth on a RBI-triple to right by Lyle Christy to go up 1-0.
Little did they know, however, that the team of C&R Market, Boonville Ready Mix and Caterpillar would also make some noise in the bottom-half of the fourth with four runs on two walks and five hits to lead 4-1.  Of course it all started with back-to-back walks to Harris and Conz. Alex Ewings then single for the first hit of the game, followed by a RBI-single by Braydon Viertel to tie the game at 1-all. Chase Chamberlain then doubled in two runs to extend the lead to 3-1. Braylon Banuet then added another single while Hayden Sandbothe drove in another run with a RBI-single to make it 4-1.
The team of A-Bow-K, W-K Auto and Caterpillar didn’t go down without a fight, though. In their half of the fifth, the visiting team rallied back with two runs on five walks to cut the lead to one at 4-3.
The team of C&R Market, Boonville Ready Mix and Caterpillar then came back to load the bases in the bottom-half of the fifth before ending the game on a time limit.
Hayden Sandbothe picked up the win on the mound for C&R Market/Boonville Ready Mix and Caterpillar while Jackson Shelton took the loss for A-Bow-K, W-K Auto and Caterpillar.
With each pitcher throwing just one inning each, Chase Chamberlain started the game for C&R Market, Boonville Ready Mix and Caterpillar. Braydon Viertel then came in pitched one frame, followed by Landon Conz, Hayden Sandbothe and Reece Townlain.
For A-Bow-K, W-K Auto and Caterpillar, Lyle Christy pitched the first inning and was followed by Landry Timm, Dalton Boler, Jackson Shelton and Gabe Romero.
Chamberlain also led the hitting attack in the game for C&R Market, Boonville Ready Mix and Caterpillar with a double and two RBIs. Viertel and Sandbothe each had one single and one RBI while Ewings and Banuet had one single apiece.
For A-Bow-K, W-K Auto and Caterpillar, Lyle Christy went 2-for-2 with a double, triple and one RBI while Brylan Carter added one single.
