Central Realty moved one step closer to the title in Junior Babe Ruth last Thursday at Twillman field in Harley park by turning back Imhoff’s Appliance by a score of 15-2 in five innings.
At 11-2 on the season, Central Realty has four game left to play but leads A&W at 8-6 by three games and KWRT at 7-4 by four games. CARSTAR is currently 6-6 on the season, followed by Imhoff’s Appliance at 5-8, Medical Arts at 3-10 and Fayette at 2-6.
In the nightcap, A&W won by forfeit against Medical Arts.
Of course there was little doubt in the game against Imhoff’s Appliance as Central Realty opened the game with five runs in the top-half of the first and then exploded for nine runs in the second to lead 14-0. Imhoff’s Appliance, meanwhile, scored both of its runs in the bottom-half of the second and held Central Realty scoreless in the third. However it was just too much Central Realty on this night while plating another run in the fourth to extend the lead to 15-2.
Charlie Bronakowski picked up the win on the mound for Central Realty while Jamesian McKee took the loss for Imhoff’s Appliance. Bronakowski pitched the first-three innings and struck out three batters while giving up two runs on four hits and one walk. Carson Campbell then came in and pitched two innings in relief and allowed one hit while striking out four batters.
As for the pitching in the game for Imhoff’s Appliance, McKee pitched the first inning and gave up 11 runs on three hits and seven walks while striking out two batters. Nathan Platt then came in and pitched one inning in relief and surrendered three runs on four hits and one walk while striking out three. Lane West followed up Platt by pitching 2 2/3 innings and giving up one run on one hit and three walks while striking out six batter. Meanwhile, after Brayden Page pitched part of the fifth and walked three batters, Dawson Barnthouse came in and pitched 1/3 inning with no runs on no hits and no walks.
Central Realty also out-hit Imhoff’s Appliance 8-5, with Bronakowski going 2-for-3 with two singles and three RBIs.
Carson Campbell also had two hits with two singles and two RBIs while Aiden Lemmons added two singles and one RBI, Austin Sandbothe with one single and two RBIs, Hayden Krumm with one single and one RBI, Reese Lang with two RBIs and Anthony Black and Dylan Schupp each with one RBI.
For Imhoff’s Appliance, Lucas Ziegelbein went 2-for-2 with two singles while Brayden Page added one double, Dawson Barnthouse with one single and one RBI, Lane West with one single and Nathan Platt with one RBI.
