Shelter Insurance picked up a pair of wins last Thursday in Little League Softball at New Franklin by beating GKC-CPA’s 10-9 in player pitch and Exchange Bank 12-4 in machine pitch.
In the game against GKC-CPA’s, Shelter Insurance trailed 9-6 after 2 1/2 before rallying back with four runs in the bottom-half of the third for the one-run victory.
Sophia Held, Heaven Hundley and Lily Chitwood all pitched in the circle for Shelter Insurance. Justice Singleton pitched all three innings for GKC-CPA’s.
Shelter Insurance also out-hit GKC-CPA’s 6-3, with Lily Chitwood collecting two doubles and one home run. Heaven Hundley added one single and one double while Gracelynn Evans contributed one single.
For GKC-CPA’s, Natalie Wiseman, Gracie Martin and Makenzie Martin each had one single.
In the second game, Shelter Insurance led Exchange Bank from start to finish while going up 7-1 after two and 9-3 after three. Shelter Insurance also plated three runs in the fourth.
Lily Chitwood had two singles and one home run to lead all hitters for Shelter Insurance. Sophia Held finished the game with two singles and one double while Rylee Mehroff added three singles, Heaven Hundley two home runs and Lily Kaullen and Baylie Bonecutter each with one single.
For Exchange Bank, Addy Salmon had two singles and one home run. Carly Dorson added two singles while Natalie Curry, Ella Oser and Kinsley Washburn contributed one single each.
