Monteer Plants & Baskets rallied from a 3-0 deficit after 1 1/2 by outscoring Boonville Caterpillar 8-4 for the rest of the game for a 8-7 victory Friday night at Lions park.
Monteer Plants & Baskets, 8-2 on the season, trailed Boonville Caterpillar 3-0 after one before rallying back with two runs in the second and five again in the third to go up 7-3. Then, after Caterpillar tacked on another run in the fourth and three again in the fifth on a home run by Taylor Frederick to tie the game at 7-all, Monteer Plants & Baskets came back to score the winning run in the bottom-half of the fifth when Hailey Polk came across on a pass ball.
Hailey Polk picked up the win in the circle for Monteer Plants & Baskets while Brooke Eichelberger took the loss for Caterpillar, who dropped to 7-5 on the season. Polk pitched all five innings and struck out nine batters while giving up seven runs on six hits and one walk. Eichelberger, meanwhile, pitched five innings and allowed eight runs on three hits and four walks while striking out nine batters.
Skyler Shuffield led the hitting attack in the game for Monteer Plants & Baskets with one triple and two RBIs. Josie Robb also tripled and drove in one run while Morgan Massa added one single.
For Caterpillar, who actually out-hit MPB 6-3, Kyra Perkins went 2-for-3 with two singles and one RBI. Taylor Frederick added one home run and one RBI while Hannah Norman had one single and one RBI and Andrea Jackson and Becky Evans each with one single.

Higbee’s Hart’s Diesel scored 12 runs in the first-three innings and never looked back, beating Fayette 14-9 in Babe Ruth 16U softball Friday night at Rolling Hills park.
Casey Hudson picked up the win in the circle for Higbee by pitching all four innings while Jalissa Woods took the loss for Fayette by giving up 13 runs on 11 hits and two walks in four innings.
Higbee also out-hit Fayette 11-7, with Hudson going 3-for-3 with a double, triple and three RBIs. Grace Westfall and Hope Smith each had two hits while Lexi Whisenand, Shelby Clark, Jill Huddleton and Macey Whisenand added one hit each.
For Fayette, Cameron McCallister, Abby Nation and Bailey Chew each had two hits while Leah Lembke added one hit.

Fayette’s 16U softball team rallied from a 11-2 deficit after 2 1/2 by outscoring Custom Weatherproofing 11-1 for the rest of the game for a 13-12 victory Friday night at Rolling Hills park.
Custom Weatherproofing, dropping to 6-5 on the season, opened the game with six in the first, two again in the second and three in the third to go up 11-2. However, in the bottom-half of the third, Fayette exploded for nine runs to tie the game at 11-all. Then, after CWP plated another run in the top-half of the fourth to make it 12-11, Fayette came back and tacked on two in the bottom-half of the inning for the victory.
Jalissa Woods picked up the win in the circle in relief for Fayette while Rachel Massa took the loss for Custom Weatherproofing. Woods pitched 1 2/3 innings in relief for Marlena Heath and gave up one run on four hits and one walk. Massa, meanwhile, pitched 1 1/3 innings in relief of starter Abby Maupin and surrendered five runs on four hits and one walk while striking out four batters.
Abby Nation had three hits and drove in one run in the game for Fayette. Leah Lembke added a double and one RBI while Cameron McCallister, Marlena Heath, Dee McDonald, Bailey Chew and Makinna Skaggs each had one hit.
For Custom Weatherproofing, Alexis Trigg went 2-for-3 with a single, triple and three RBIs. Abby Maupin had a single, double, and one RBI while Hannah Coffelt and Madison Henderson added one single and one RBI each and Rachel Massa, Alexis Albin, Sydney Joy and Becca Howery each with one single.
