Custom Weatherproofing edges Higbee’s Hart’s Diesel 16-15 in the first game on Tuesday

Cooper County Land Title had the perfect game plan for Boonville Caterpillar in Babe Ruth 16U softball Wednesday night at Rolling Hills park.
While both teams were near perfect in the field, Cooper County Land Title out-hit and outscored Boonville Caterpillar for four innings of play for a 13-8 victory.
In the nightcap, Caterpillar bounced back by beating Custom Weatherproofing in another thriller 8-7.
Cooper County Land Title, 6-5 on the season, opened the game with all 13 runs in the first-three innings to lead Caterpillar 13-4. However, in the top-half of the fourth, Caterpillar rallied back with four runs to cut the lead back to five.
Brooke Stone picked up the win in the circle for CCLT while Taryn Johnson took the loss for Caterpillar.
CCLT also out-hit Caterpillar 10-8, with Cara Bishop going 2-for-2 with one being a double. Bishop also drove in one run and scored three times.
Jacey Fenton finished the game with two singles and four RBIs while Ginna Meisenheimer added two singles, Sylvia Bishop with two singles and one RBI, Daylynn Baker with one single and two RBIs and Brooke Stone with one single and one RBI.
For Caterpillar, Kyra Perkins had one single, one triple and one RBI. Reese Lavers finished the game with two singles and two RBIs while Brooke Eichelberger, Taryn Johnson and Hanna Norman added one single and one RBI each and Andrea Jackson with one single.
In the nightcap, Custom Weatherproofing led Caterpillar 6-3 after 2 1/2 before giving up two runs in each of the third and fourth innings to trail 7-6. Meanwhile, in the top-half of the fifth, CWP added another run to tie the game at 7-all only to have Caterpillar score the winning run in the bottom-half of the inning for the victory.
Taryn Johnson picked up the win in relief for Caterpillar while Rachel Massa took the loss for CWP, who dropped to 6-4.
For CWP, Massa pitched 4 2/3 innings and allowed eight runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out four.
Caterpillar, 7-4 on the season, also had eight hits in the game, with Reese Lavers going 3-for-3 with one RBI. Brooke Eichelberger added two singles while Kyra Perkins single and drove in four runs. Taylor Frederick also had one single and one RBI while Andrea Jackson finished the game with one single.
For CWP, Kyla Johnson went 2-for-2 with two singles and three RBIs while Madison Henderson and Alexis Trigg added one single and one RBI each and Alexis Albin with one single.

Custom Weatherproofing saved its best for last Tuesday night in the first game against Higbee’s Hart’s Diesel in Babe Ruth 16U softball at Rolling Hills park.
In a back and forth game all night, Custom Weatherproofing rallied from a 15-11 deficit after 6 1/2 by scoring five runs in the bottom-half of the seventh for a 16-15 victory.
Of course Higbee’s Hart’s Diesel made it all good in the second game by leading Central Bank from start to finish for a 14-2 victory.
As for the first game, HHD pretty much dominated the first-two innings while leading Custom Weatherproofing 10-3 after two and 11-5 after three. However after a scoreless fourth inning, Custom Weatherproofing began to find the open holes a little more while exploding for six runs in the fifth to tie the game at 1-all. Meanwhile, after a scoreless sixth inning, HHD sent four runs across in the top-half of the seventh only to have Custom Weatherproofing rally with five in the bottom-half of the inning for the victory.
Rachel Massa picked up the win in the circle for Custom Weatherproofing, who improved to 6-3, while Casey Hudson took the loss for HHD.
Custom Weatherproofing also out-hit HHD 16-14, with Zoe Coffelt hitting for the cycle with one single, one double, one triple and one home run. Coffelt also drove in three runs. Kyla Johnson was 3-for-4 with one being a triple and three RBIs. Madison Henderson had a single, double and three RBIs while Alexis Albin and Alexis Trigg added two singles and two RBIs, Becca Howery with two singles, Rachel Massa with one double and one RBI and Hannah Coffelt with one RBI.
For HHD, 4-8 on the season, Grace Westfall went 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. Shelby Clark, Casey Hudson and Devin Clark each had two singles and two RBIs while Jill Huddleton added two singles, Hope Smith one single and one RBI, Lexi Whisenand and Julie Johnson each with one single and Victoria Gibson with one RBI.
In the nightcap, Central Bank kept the game close for one inning while playing HHD to a 2-2 tie. However it was all HHD after that with two in the bottom-half of the second and 10 again in the third to win by the mercy rule.
Lexi Whisenand was the winning pitcher in the game for HHD while Logan Root took the loss for Central Bank, who dropped to 1-7 on the season.
HHD also out-hit Central Bank 6-3, with Casey Hudson and Lexi Whisenand each collecting a home run and two RBIs. Shelby Clark had one triple and two RBIs while Jill Huddleton added one double, Izzy Boggs with one single and one RBI, Julie Johnson with one single and Hope Smith with one RBI.
For Central Bank, Logan Root went 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBIs. Zoey Laster and Jenna McKee also singled in the game.
