Axis Seed beating Tint Shop 16-6 in the nightcap
Jamal Franklin led a 10 hit attack as the Boonville Daily News defeated Schlotzhauer Auto 14-10 in Cal Ripken Minor Monday night at the COCOBA ballfield.
The Boonville Daily News, improving to 4-5 on the season, opened the game with 11 unanswered runs in the first-four innings against Schlotzhauer Auto. Meanwhile, after Schlotzhauer Auto rallied back with five in the bottom-half of the fourth, BDN came back and tacked on three more in the fifth to extend the lead to 14-5. Then, in the bottom-half of the fifth, Schlotzhauer Auto exploded for five more runs to cut the lead back to four.
Brooks Poulsen picked up the win on the mound for Boonville Daily News, who used a total of five pitchers, while Dylan Kosky took the loss for Schlotzhauer Auto. Poulsen pitched just one inning and struck out two batters while walking two.
Zeke Pritchett, Darrin Leonard, Shawn Beach-Reasons and Rhad Leathers also pitched one inning for the BDN.
As for the pitching in the game for Schlotzhauer Auto, Kosky pitched one inning and gave up eight runs on seven hits while striking out two batters. Kailen Vaca then came in and pitched 2 2/3 innings, followed by Edison Baker for 1 1/2 innings and Kaleb Friebe for part of the fifth.
Boonville Daily News also had 10 hits in the game, with Jamal Franklin going 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Zeke Pritchett was 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBIs while Rhad Leathers added one single, one double and one RBI, Tyler Wesselman with one single and one RBI, Shawn Beach-Reasons and Darrin Leonard each with one single and Brooks Poulsen with one RBI.
For Schlotzhauer Auto, Kaleb Friebe went 2-for-2 with two singles and one RBI. Jaeshua Barber had one single and two RBIs while Dylan Kosky added one single and Austin Comstock with one RBI.

Axis Seed scored 14 runs in the first-three innings and never looked back, beating Tint Shop in the nightcap Monday night in Cal Ripken Minor at the COCOBA ballfield.
Axis Seed, 5-5 on the season, trailed 3-2 after 1 1/2 before rallying back with four in the bottom-half of the second, eight in the third and two in the fourth to win by the mercy rule.
Evan Bishop was the winning pitcher in the game for Axis Seed while Lucas Schuster took the loss for Tint Shop, who dropped to 6-3 on the season. Bishop pitched the first-three innings and struck out nine batters while giving up three runs on three walks. Schuster, meanwhile, pitched 2 1/3 innings for Tint Shop and allowed nine runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out three.
Axis Seed also finished the game with 12 hits, with Evan Bishop going 4-for-4 with a double, triple and six RBIs. Clayton Schuster was 2-for-3 with one double and two RBIs while Cooper Pfeiffer and Aiden Rapp added two singles and two RBIs each, Gaven Weimer one single and one RBI and Seth Thomas with one single.
For Tint Shop, Lucas Schuster had the only hit with one single.
