Vollmer Farms did everything but win Monday night’s game against A-Bow-K in Babe Ruth 12U softball at Rolling Hills park.
Although Vollmer Farms went into the game winless for the season, they gave A-Bow-K everything they wanted and more while playing to a 16-16 tie after 2 1/2 innings. However, in the bottom-half of the third, A-Bow-K scored what turned out to be the winning run for a 17-16 victory.
Although A-Bow-K wound up winning by just one run, the hitting was lopsided to say the least as A-Bow-K managed 17 runs on eight hits while Vollmer Farms had 16 runs on no hits. Vollmer Farms also had all four errors in the game.
Nonetheless after the first inning, A-Bow-K led Vollmer Farms by just two runs at 4-2. Of course that all changed in the second inning as Vollmer Farms plated five more runs to go up 7-4 only to have A-Bow-K explode for 12 runs in the bottom-half of the inning to make it 16-7. Then, after Vollmer Farms tied the game at 16-all in the top-half of the third, A-Bow-K came back and scored the winning run in the bottom-half of the inning.
Alyssa Gross picked up the win in the circle for A-Bow-K while Kasie Northern took the loss for Vollmer Farms, 0-13 on the season.
As for the hitting in the game for A-Bow-K, Lexi Maddex and Mia Hatter each had one single, one double and one RBI. Addison ward added one single and two RBIs while Kailey Biesemeyer, Bayleigh Warren and Lauren Krumm added one single each.
For Vollmer Farms, Kasie Northern and Bridgette Lutz each had two runs batted in while Mary Yung, Addie Hubach and Kara Crump contributed one RBI each.

Fuemmeler Furniture Refinishings raised its season record to 12-0 by turning back A-Bow-K in Babe Ruth 12U softball Monday night at Rolling Hills park.
Fuemmeler Furniture Refinishings never trailed in the game against A-Bow-K while leading 5-0 after one and 8-1 after two before giving up one run in each of the fifth and sixth innings of play.
Leah Vollrath picked up the win in the circle for FFR while Emma West took the loss for A-Bow-K, 6-5 on the season. Vollrath pitched all six innings and struck out seven batters while giving up three runs on nine hits. West, meanwhile, pitched five innings and allowed eight runs on five hits and four walks while striking out nine batters.
Katelyn Maggard led the hitting attack in the game for FFR with two hits, one being a triple. Olivia Eichelberger and Natalie Glenn also singled while Abby Fuemmeler and Leah Vollrath had one RBI each.
For A-Bow-K, Emma West went 3-for-3 with one being a double and one RBI. Alexis Schlotzhauer had two singles while Lexi Maddex, Alyssa Gross, Addison Ward and LaShayla Korte added one single each

Fuemmeler Furniture Refinishings raised its season record to 11-0 by turning A-Bow-K in Babe Ruth 12U softball Sunday night at Rolling Hills park.
While playing just three innings, FFR opened the game with 11 runs in the first and then sent two runs across in the second and four again in the third. As for A-Bow-K, they scored both runs in the top-half of the third.
Olivia Eichelberger picked up the win in the circle for FFR while Emma West took the loss for A-Bow-K.
FFR also out-hit A-Bow-K 5-2, with Katelyn Maggard going 1-for-1 with one triple and one RBI. Abby Fuemmeler doubled and drove in two runs while Zoey Lang and Kinley Fox added one single and one RBI, Grace Phillips with one single and Kaelyn Sprick with one RBI.
For A-Bow-K, Kailey Biesemeyer and Alyssa Gross each had one single.
