Sell’s Carpet had one of its best games of the season Friday night in Cal Ripken Major by blasting QuinlanAgency.com with 15 runs on 12 hits for a 15-1 victory.
As for the nightcap, Einspahr Construction broke a 4-4 tie after 3 1/2 by exploding for five runs in the bottom-half of the fourth to beat Central Bank Boone County by a score of 9-4.
Sell’s Carpet, improving to 2-5 on the season, scored one run in the first, six again in the third, one in the fourth and seven in the fifth against QA.com. QA.com, meanwhile, scored its only run of the ballgame in the bottom-half of the first to tie the game at 1-all.
Clayton Wilmsmeyer picked up the win on the mound for Sell’s Carpet while Shane Chamberlain took the loss for QA.com, who dropped to 3-4 on the season.
Wilmsmeyer pitched the first-four innings and struck out six batters while giving up one run on five hits and three walks. Will Stock then came in and pitched one inning in relief and struck out one batter. Then, to finish the game, Ryder Comegys pitched part of the fifth with no runs, no hits and no walks.
For QA.com, Shane Chamberlain pitched 3 1/3 innings and struck out seven batters while giving up eight runs on six hits and two walks. Austin Rice then came in and pitched one inning in relief and surrendered seven runs on five hits and two walks while striking out one batter. Then, to finish the game, Owen Armentrout pitched 2/3 inning and issued one hit while striking out one batter.
Edrissa Bah-Lamb led all hitters in the game for Sell’s Carpet with a single, double and seven RBIs.
Hayden Jenks, Clayton Wilmsmeyer and Zander Schuster each had two singles and one RBI while Jackson Johns added one single and one RBI, Will Stock, Eli Stock and Ryder Comegys each with one single and Aiden Brown and Connor Imhoff each with one RBI.
For QuinlanAgency.com, Owen Armentrout went 2-for-3 with one single and one double. Austin Rice finished the game with a RBI-single while Chase Amos and Shane Chamberlain added one single.
QA.com also left five batters on base while Sell’s Carpet stranded six runners in the game.
In the second game, Central Bank Boone County and Einspahr Construction mirrored each other for the first-three innings while pushing across two runs in the first and two again in the third. However, after holding Central Bank Boone County scoreless in its half of the fourth, Einspahr Construction came back with five runs in the bottom-half of the inning to extend the lead to 9-4.
That proved to be the difference in the game as Central Bank Boone County failed to score in the fifth and sixth innings of play.
Central Bank Boone County, dropping to 5-4 on the season, also left seven runners on base while Einspahr Construction stranded only six runners.
As for the pitching in the game for Einspahr Construction, Henry Rohrbach picked up the win while Max Eckerle recorded the save. Rohrbach pitched the first-three innings and gave up four runs on four hits and five walks while striking out three batters. Eckerle then came in and pitched three innings in relief and allowed one hit and five walks while striking out six.
For Central Bank Boone County, Tyson White took the loss by giving up four runs on five hits and three walks while striking out one batter in three innings. Keaton Eads then came in and pitched two innings in relief and surrendered five runs on five hits and three walks while striking out three batters.
Einspahr Construction also out-hit Central Bank Boone County 10-5, with Henry Rohrbach going 3-for-4 with three singles. Ben Lutz added two singles and four RBIs while Blake Griffin contributed two singles and two RBIs, Kyler Heath one single and three RBIs and Michael DeLeon and Skyler Duncan each with one single.
For Central Bank Boone County, Ethan Watson went 2-for-2 with a single, double and one RBI.
Aaron Vossler finished the game with one single and one RBI while Gage Morris and Bentley Turner each had one single and Keaton Eads with two RBIs.
