Boonville Caterpillar’s Taylor Frederick went 2-for-2 at the plate, and teammate Brooke Eichelberger doubled and drove in two runs in a 11-6 win over Fayette in Babe Ruth 16U softball Friday night at Rolling Hills park.
Although Boonville Caterpillar wound up winning by five runs, Fayette led early in the ballgame after putting up two runs in each of the first-two innings to make it 4-0. However it was pretty much all Boonville Caterpillar after that with six runs in the bottom-half of the second, two again in the third and three in the fourth for the victory.
Taryn Johnson picked up the win in the circle for Caterpillar while Jordyn Ball took the loss for Fayette. Johnson pitched all four innings and struck out five batters while giving up six runs on six hits and three walks. Ball, meanwhile, pitched all four innings for Fayette and allowed 11 runs on five hits and five walks while striking out eight batters.
Reese Lavers and Becky Evans also singled and drove in one run for Caterpillar.
For Fayette, who had six hits in the game, Abby Nation went 2-for-2 with one double. Cameron McCallister had one single and one RBI while Hannah Quint, Makinna Skaggs and Jordyn Ball added one single each and Murphy Quint with one RBI.

Cooper County Land Title rallied from a 3-0 deficit after 3 1/2 by scoring all four runs in the bottom-half of the fourth to beat Fayette in Babe Ruth 16U softball Friday night at Rolling Hills park.
Fayette led CCLT 2-0 after one and 3-0 after 3 1/2 before surrendering four runs in the bottom-half of the fourth to suffer the loss.
Brooke Stone picked up the win in relief for CCLT while Murphy Quint took the loss for Fayette. Stone pitched two innings in relief of starter Peyton Kempf and gave up one run on two hits and two walks while striking out three batters. Quint, meanwhile, pitched all five innings and struck out 11 batters while giving up four runs on one hit and six walks.
Taylyn Heilman had the only hit in the game for CCLT, being a triple. Heilman also drove in one run.
For Fayette, who had five hits in the game, Cameron McCallister went 2-for-3 with one double. Estes had two doubles and two RBIs while Murphy Quint added one single.
