Fuemmeler Furniture Refinishings continued its perfect season Thursday night in Babe Ruth 12U softball by beating A-Bow-K by a score of 11-0.
As for the second game, A-Bow-K led Vollmer Farms from start to finish for a 12-10 victory.
FFR, improving to 10-0 on the season, opened the game with three runs in the first inning and then sent four runs across in the second, two again in the third and two in the fourth.
Leah Vollrath picked up the win in the circle for FFR while Emma West took the loss for A-Bow-K. Vollrath pitched all four innings and struck out four batters while giving up two hits and two walks. West, meanwhile, pitched all four innings and allowed 11 runs on six hits and seven walks while striking out nine batters.
Vollrath also led the hitting attack for FFR with a single, double and two RBIs. Abby Fuemmeler had two singles and three RBIs while Zoey Lang added one single and one RBI and Grace Phillips with one single.
For A-Bow-K, Lexi Maddex and Alexis Schnetzler each had one single.
In the second game, A-Bow-K broke out the bats early against Vollmer Farm by exploding for six runs in the first and five again in the second. But even then it wasn’t enough to pull away from Vollmer Farms, who added three in the first and six in the second to cut the lead to 11-9. Meanwhile, after A-Bow-K tacked on another run in its half of the third, Vollmer Farms came back and plated one run in the bottom-half of the inning.
Emma West picked up the win on the mound for A-Bow-K, who improved to 5-4 on the season, while Addie Hubach took the loss for Vollmer Farms. Alyssa Gross started the game for A-Bow-K and gave up nine runs on one hit and eight walks while striking out two batters in one inning. West then came in and pitched innings in relief and struck out four batters while giving up one run on five walks.
For Vollmer Farms, who dropped to 0-11, Hubach pitched all three innings and gave up 12 runs on 11 hits and eight walks while striking out two.
A-Bow-K also out-hit Vollmer Farms 11-1, with Addison ward going 3-for-3 with two RBIs.
Alexis Schnetzler had two singles and one RBI while LaShayla Korte added one double and two RBIs, Emma West with one double and one RBI, Kailey Biesemeyer with one double, Lexi Maddex and Bayleigh Warren each with one single and one RBI and Alyssa Gross with one single.
For Vollmer Farms, Addie Hubach had the only hit in the game with one triple and one RBI.
