Central Bank wins 10-3 over CCLT in the nightcap

Monteer Plants & Baskets scored three runs in the bottom-half of the fourth to beat Cooper County Land Title 4-3 in the first game in Babe Ruth 16U softball Wednesday night at Rolling Hills park.
Monteer Plants & Baskets, improving to 6-2 on the season, opened the game with one run in the first inning only to have CCLT rally back with three in the third to go up by a score of 3-1. Meanwhile, in the fourth inning, Monteer Plants & Baskets tacked on three more runs for the one-run victory.
Skyler Shuffield picked up the win in the circle for Monteer Plants & Baskets while Peyton Kempf took the loss for CCLT.
Monteer Plants & Baskets also finished the game with four hits, with Shuffield going 2-for-2 with one triple and two RBIs. Hailey Polk finished the game with a double while Allison McGuire added one single and one RBI.
For CCLT, Jacey Fenton was 2-for-2 with two singles while Daylynn Baker added one single and two RBIs.
Cooper County Land Title also dropped the second game against Central Bank 10-3.
Central Bank never trailed in the game against CCLT and led 4-0 after and 6-3 after three before adding four more runs in the fifth.
Logan Root was the winning pitcher in the game for Central Bank, 1-6, while Brooke Stone took the loss for CCLT, 4-5.
Zoey Laster had two of the team’s four hits in the game for Central Bank, both being singles. Jenna McKee added a single and one RBI while Kyla Johnston added one single and Taylor Simmons with one RBI.
For CCLT, Daylynn Baker went 2-for-2 with a double, triple and two RBIs. Taylyn Heilman had two singles and one RBI while Reagan Triebsch added two singles.
Tuesday’s games
Higbee’s Hart Diesel picked up two wins in Babe Ruth 16U softball Tuesday night at Rolling Hills park by beating Central Bank and Caterpillar by the scores of 13-3 and 18-7, respectively.
Higbee’s Hart Diesel, improving to 3-7 on the season, scored nine of its 13 runs against Central Bank in the first two innings. Meanwhile, after Central Bank plated three runs in the bottom-half of the third, Higbee came back and added four more runs in the fourth to win by the 10-run rule.
Izzy Boggs picked up the win in the circle for Higbee’s Hart Diesel while Alexia Sprick took the loss for Central Bank.
Higbee’s Hart Diesel also out-hit Central Bank 10-4, with Casey Hudson going 2-for-2 with a home run and one RBI. Lexi Whisenand and Devin Clark each had two singles while Grace Westfall added one double and two RBIs, Julie Johnson with one single and two RBIs, Destiny Switzer with one single and one RBI and Jill Huddleton with one single.
For Central Bank, Kylee Johnston had two singles while Logan Root added a double and two RBIs and Zoey Laster with one double.
In the nightcap, Higbee’s Hart Diesel led Caterpillar 4-0 after one and 10-3 after two before outscoring Caterpillar 8-4 in the third to win by the mercy rule.
Casey Hudson was the winning pitcher in the game for Higbee’s Hart Diesel while Brooke Eichelberger took the loss for Caterpillar, who dropped to 5-2 on the season.
Higbee’s Hart Diesel also had 11 hits in the game, with Shelby Clark, Devin Clark and Grace Westfall collecting two singles and one RBI each. Jill Huddleton also had two hits while Casey Hudson and Destiny Switzer added one single and two RBIs each and Lexi Whisenand with one single.
For Caterpillar, Reese Lavers went 2-for-3 with two RBIs while Kyra Perkins added one triple, Andrea Jackson with one single and Brooke Eichelberger, Hanna Norman and Taryn Johnson each with one RBI.
