Boonville Abstract prevails over 87 Diner, 6-2
Fayette’s 8U softball team exploded for 10 runs on 20 hits to beat Walmart in Babe Ruth softball Thursday night at Lions park by a score of 10-1.
Fayette, improving to 3-2 on the season, trailed only once against Walmart while giving up one run in the top-half of the first. However it was pretty much all Fayette after that with nine unanswered runs over the next-three innings for the victory.
Fayette also had 20 hits in the game, with Graycyn Syferd going 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Paige Vroman was 2-for-3 with two RBIs while Addison Gibbs, Payton Kindle, Kadence Sultrop, Camryn Ballew and Chloe Brier added two singles and one RBI each, Kenna Vroman and Brooke Daugherty each with two singles and Emma Hilgedick with one single.
For Walmart, who dropped to 1-5-1 overall, Elayna Einspahr and Lainey Humphrey each had two singles while Katie Pefferman and Morgan Baker added one single each.

Emme Comegys and Daisie Huth each had three hits, leading Boonville Abstract past 87 Diner in Babe Ruth 8U softball Thursday night at Lions park.
Boonville Abstract, improving to 5-1 on the season, opened the game with three runs in the top-half of the first and then sent one run across in the fourth and two again in the fifth. 87 Diner, meanwhile, scored both runs in the bottom-half of the first.
Avery Haynes and Kendal Hodges finished the game with two singles and one RBI each for Boonville Abstract while Lilli Moore added two singles, Elizabeth Eichelberger, Brooklyn Hicks and Ellise Kirchner each with one single and one RBI and Bella Hicks and Brylea Warren with one single each.
For 87 Diner, who fell to 3-3 on the season, Kinsey Biesemeyer had two singles while Dakoda Leonard added one single and one RBI and Karman Leonard, Adelaide Lenz and Elizabeth Giroux with one single.
