A-Bow-K raised its season record to 4-0 by beating Boonville Caterpillar 8-3 Thursday night in Midget League action at Kemper park.
A-Bow-K never trailed in the game against Caterpillar and led 2-0 after one, 4-0 after three and 8-0 after four before giving up three runs in the top-half of the fifth.
Karson Elbert picked up the win on the mound for A-Bow-K while Gabe Romero-Shelton took the loss for Boonville Caterpillar. Elbert pitched the first-three innings and struck out eight batters while giving up three walks. Bryson Welch then came in and pitched two innings in relief and allowed three runs on one hit and four walks while striking out five batters.
For Boonville Caterpillar, Shelton pitched the first-two innings and struck out six batters while giving up two runs on one hit and four walks. Reece Townlain then came in and pitched 1 2/3 innings in relief and allowed six runs on nine walks while striking out five batters.
Elbert also had the only hit in the game for A-Bow-K, being a single while driving in three runs. Bryson Welch, Isaac Herman, Landry Timm and Landon Conz also drove in one run each.
For Boonville Caterpillar, who dropped to 2-3, Jack Thompson went 1-for-2 with two RBIs. Brylan Carter also drove in one run.
