The following is a brief of the story. For the full version, see the Wednesday, Jan. 14 print edition of the BDN.

It’s been almost 41 years since Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated. Since that time, his dream of equality for all has been recognized and will be seen next week when Barack Obama is sworn in as the first African-American president of the United States.

In recognition of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the community is invited to march with members of the New Life in Christ Ministries. The march will start at Boonville City Hall, 525 E. Spring St., and end at New Life in Christ Ministries, 521 Main Street.

Elder Wayne Jones, pastor at New Life, said he has hopes for this year’s march as well as the presidential inauguration that takes place the next day.
