For a little extra proof of the context accuracy of the Bible, look a the historical accounts of war, and especially war equipment. The soldiers had to be supplied. Those supplies --and even the raw materials -- were very well known.
Today, huge amounts of revenue come from defense business. And, as it shows the lives and businesses of real people, the Bible also gives us some glimpses of the business of armor and weapons. War business then was just about the same as it is now. There was even material research and development.
Museums have some fairly good collections of ancient armor. Any soldier who served with the kings, about 1500 B.C. and in later years, was probably protected by a chest cover, or so-called breast plate. Fitted covers might have gone about the thighs. Of course, there was a good helmet. All these find mentioning in the Bible texts.
