Herbert “Herb” Ravenscraft Jr., 80, of Boonville passed away at the home of his daughter in Kansas City on Saturday, May 10, 2008.


Visitation for Herb will be at Davis Funeral Chapel in Boonville on Wednesday morning from 9 until 10 a.m. with graveside services following at Walnut Grove Cemetery with Rev. Lewis Odneal officiating.


Herb Ravenscraft was born in Boone County, Mo. on May 19, 1927, the son of Herbert Ravenscraft, Sr. and Edith Daly Ravenscraft. He married Patricia Ann Helton, April 25, 1947 in Columbia, Mo. They lived in Kansas City for many years where Herb was in the automobile business as well as working for the railroad. After his retirement in Kansas City, Herb and Pat moved to Boonville in 1985 to fulfill his dream of owning a restaurant and bar. They purchased the Stein House and operated it for several years. Herb worked for Mid Missouri Thermo King from 1992 until just a couple of months ago.


Mr. Ravenscraft was preceded in death by his wife, Pat, in May 2006, his brother, R.J. Ravenscraft and by two sisters, Edna Brady and Gladys Keene.


He is survived by his daughter Cheryl and her husband John Rooney of Kansas City. His sisters, Vera Burks of Columbia, Lena Rodman of Livingston, Mont. and Clara Hill of Boonville also survive. He also leaves behind three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.


In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be directed to the Howard County or the Kansas City Hospice.
