Opal Dee Holem, age 72 of Boonville, died May 3, 2008 at Cooper County Memorial Hospital in Boonville.
Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date. Cremation arrangements were by Markland-Yager Funeral Home.
She was born on July 4, 1935, the daughter of Alvis Loftis and Elsie Duncan Loftis. She married James Holem on July 9, 1954 and he preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 1997. Opal was a homemaker and was employed at Nordyne in Boonville, retiring in 2003.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her father, Alvis Loftis; her mother, Elsie Loftis O’Bryan; and by three brothers: Leo, Wilbur and Kenneth Loftis.
Survivors include her children: James M. Holem of Danville, Ill., Garry W. Holem of Jacksonville, Fla., Tim Holem of Melbourne, Fla., Patricia A. Bates and Debra J. Blackwell of Boonville, Sandra D. Holem of Danville, and Pamela M. Norman of Nelson, Mo.
