Helen “Geneva” Williams, of New Franklin, Mo. passed away May 17, 2008 at Big Bend Retreat in Slater. She was 95-years-old.


Services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 22, 2008 at Bible Baptist Church in New Franklin with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Rev. Rodney Hagget will officiate with burial following at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in New Franklin.


She was born Aug. 29, 1912, a daughter of Harry F. and Anna K. Spielhagen Eatherton. She married Roy O. Williams on Oct. 26, 1942 and he preceded her in death.


Geneva was a longtime member of Bible Baptist Church in New Franklin where she served in the nursery for many years and was a second mother to many area children. She was formerly employed at the Selwyn Shoe Factory and she and her husband owned and operated Williams Furniture Store in Boonville for several years.


She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers: Orval, Paul, Cecil and Harry Jr.; and by eight sisters: Mary Lee, Roberta Amick, Ethel Smith, Jean Biesemeyer, Lena Merle Branstetter, Thelma Dobson, Anna Mae Eatherton and Selma Brawley.


Survivors include a sister, Noreen Lightfoot of Slater and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Bible Baptist Church or Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in care of Markland-Yager Funeral Home, P.O. Box 126, New Franklin, Mo. 65274.
