Ronald Dean Auxier, 60, of Greenville, N.C., formerly of Jackson, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Durham, N.C.

Funeral services were held Sunday, May 4, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Eisnaugle-Lewis Funeral Home of Jackson with Rev. Bill Zinn officiating, burial followed in Bethesda Cemetery. Friends called one hour prior to the service on Sunday.

He was born Oct. 13, 1947, in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Ossie and Nona Auxier. Mr. Auxier was raised in Jackson and graduated from Jackson High School in 1966. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and enjoyed cabinet making and the company of his animals.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by infant siblings, Sarah and Ersal Auxier and grandson Colby Auxier.

He is survived by four sisters: Anne (Bill) Basham, Bonnie (Dick) Zinn, Linda (Bud) Costilow, and Mary (Carry) Montgomery; and two brothers: Robert (Betty) Auxier, all of Jackson, and Bill (Joy) Auxier of Florida. He leaves behind three sons: Shawn (Theresa) Auxier of Boonville, Christopher (Betty) Auxier of Greenville, Ryan Auxier of California; and one daughter, Winsdie Lee of Boonville, and many nieces and nephews in the Jackson area.
