It’s easy to see why Boonville Pirates Cross-Country coach Jonathan Kersha is in a good mood.
In its four year of existence, Kersha finally has a full team with 11 girls and six boys suited out for the 2010 season.

But that’s not all. In addition to returning six letterwinners for the upcoming season, Kersha is all smiles knowing that Boonville will also host a meet on Tuesday, Sept. 21st at Kemper park.

“I’m very excited about this season,” stated Kersha. “A big part of that is just the fact that we have increased our numbers so much this year. It has changed the entire dynamic for the team. There is much more friendly competition within the team and that makes everyone work harder and get stronger. I expect by mid-season we’ll see some really good results and hopefully a team win. This will be our first year to have both the boys and girls included in the team scoring-a minimum of five runners is required for this season.”
