The LSE Lady Hawks volleyball team fell in two games last night on the road, losing to Sedalia by the scores of 25-18, 25-21.
LSE volleyball coach Kristin Roberts said the girls had a tough loss last night to Sedalia.
“They seem to have had a lot of experience playing together,” Roberts said. “As a team, we managed to play with them which is a big accomplishment. We ended up with 10 team kills on the night and 17 aces.”
Emma Goff led the Lady Hawks with three aces, three assists, three digs and two kills.
Lindsey Harris finished the match with two digs and one ace while Sydnee Poindexter added three kills and three digs, Holly Brady with one assist and two digs, Keely Fenton with one ace and one kill, Kelsi Dillender with one kill and one dig and Paige Peterson, Bryanna Nivert and Sophie Taube with one dig each.
Sedalia also won the B-game in three against LSE 21-25, 25-20 and 25-16.
Kishanda Jones had three aces, three digs and one kill in the match for the Lady Hawks.
Bailey Magyar had two aces, two digs and one kill while Emily Gibson added two aces and two digs, Tatiana Winters with three digs and one ace, Jordan Xufuris with two digs and one ace, Natalie Bishop with two aces, Taylor Fisher and Jessica Leathers each with two digs, Bekah Renner with one ace and one dig and Hannah Lefler with one dig and one assist.
On Tuesday at the LSE gymnasium in Boonville, the Lady Hawks defeated Centralia in two straight 25-18 and 26-24.
Roberts said the match against Centralia was very exciting. “Both teams played very well,” Roberts said. “We ended the night with our first win of the season.”
“The girls did a great job of getting the ball up to the setter and finding the open spots on the other side of the net. We are starting to be able to “see” the court better.”
