The morning manager of the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant on Hwy. B arrived for work on Saturday morning to find thieves had been to work before he got there.

Sometime between 10:30 p.m. on Friday night and 9 a.m. Saturday morning burglars gained entrance into the restaurant by removing the west door from the hinges. Once inside, the thieves cut phone lines and wire to the alarm system to prevent alarms from sounding. They  used a two-wheel dolly belonging to the business to wheel out the safe. The contents of the safe was said to be an undisclosed amount of cash. Nothing else was reported to be missing from the business.

Captain Don Smith of the Boonville Police Department said they have put out a state and national bulletin on the burglary to see if there are any other cases that may be tied to this one. Meanwhile, Smith asks that anyone who may remember seeing anything suspicious between the hours during which the burglary occurred, please contact the Boonville Police Department at 882-2727.
