Boonville, Mo. -

The Boonville City Council, at its Monday night meeting, unanimously approved a resolution refining a proposed involuntary annexation area to the city to 1,381 acres. The purpose of the resolution was to show legal compliance with state statutes that state annexations must satisfy at least a 15 percent contiguous boundary requirement to current city limits. According to the resolution, Boonville’s proposed annexation area has a common contiguous boundary of 33.2 percent.

“This resolution is presented in our ongoing effort to dot our i’s and cross our t’s in our annexation proposal,” said city counselor/planner Megan McGuire.

Public meetings to discuss the plan are scheduled for the city’s Planning and Zoning meeting scheduled for Tuesday, May 13 at 7 p.m. at city hall, and the next regular council meeting which is scheduled for Monday, May 19 at 7 p.m.
