The following is a brief of the story. For the full version, see the Wednesday, Nov. 26 print edition of the BDN.
The months of October and November have been busy for the Cooper County Commissioners as the plan for the future of the county.
On Oct. 2, a $100,000 certificate of deposit in the general revenue account was renewed at Main Street Bank in Bunceton at a rate of 4.02 and 4.08 A.P.Y. A second certificate of deposit in this account, in the amount of $150,000, was also renewed at the same rate. Both bids were for one year terms.
At the Oct. 9 meeting, commissioners discussed quotes received for materials used to install a guard barrier on Mile Corner Road. Western District Commissioner Charles Lee Schlotzhauer moved to accept the quote from Viebrock Construction of Sedalia, Mo. for used guard rail, post and hardware. The equipment will be used to build a 170 foot barrier totaling $2,284.
The commissioners met with Scott Williams, fisheries biologist with the Missouri Department of Conservation, on Oct. 20. The Missouri Department of Conservation is proposing a new bridge to be built over the Draffen Branch in south Cooper County.
Following their discussion, Presiding Commissioner Eddie Brickner made a motion to enter into agreement with the department.
