On a hot summer day in late June, fresh cold water refreshes best – inside and out. On Friday and Saturday, June 26 and 27 Heritage Days, the Boonslick Habitat for Humanity will sponsor a dunking booth and sell bottled water to satisfy both needs. For a mere $1, you will get your choice of either a bottle of water or three balls to throw.
The booth will be located behind Snapp’s Hardware in the alley off of Morgan St. next to Imhoff’s Hometown Appliance.
Carol Browning is organizing the effort and sees the potential for a lot of the “fun” in “fundraising.” Those slated to take a dunk – or more – include Mark Ficken, superintendent of Boonville schools, who will be in the booth from 6-7:30 p.m. Friday night.
Saturday’s line up includes:
• 9 a.m.: Dr. Mona Brownfield;
• 10 a.m.: Charlie Melkersman, Nordyne;
• 11 a.m.: Amanda Adair, pool dept.
• 12 noon: James Deckard, Boonville Police Dept.;
• 1 p.m.: Ken Anderson, Boonville Police Dept.;
• 1:30 p.m.: Vicki Zeller, Intensive Hair;
• 3:30 p.m.: Scott Jackson, Imhoff Appliance
• 4 p.m.: Darrell Harris, Boonville Fire Dept.;
• 4:30 p.m.: Megan McGuire, Boonville city attorney;
• 5 p.m.: Dane Gregg, KWRT;
• 7:30 p.m.: Theresa Krebs, BDN.
See the name of someone you know? Call everyone you know and tell them the who, when and what they need to do to raise money for Habitat.
There are still plenty of openings in the schedule – if you’d like to see someone take a splash, give their name to Carol and help her convince them it’s all for a good cause. You can reach her at 882-6179 or by email at browninghardware@sbcglobal.net.
The booth will be open from 6-9 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday.
Habitat extends its thank to Gene Kuster of Pilot Grove for use of the dunking booth, and to C&R Market for the donation of bottled water.
